Joanna Schulman

Joanna, a Director of the firm, has extensive experience working with organizations in the biotech/life sciences, technology and consumer products industries. Joanna specializes in the areas of: corporate development and growth strategies; asset acquisition & divestiture; M&A; partnering and alliances; licensing opportunities; financial advisory and capital raising.

Prior to entering consulting, Joanna worked with Deloitte to build their national life sciences practice and assisted biotech/life science companies with corporate structuring, partnering and financing opportunities. She was also Consulting Director to Pathways Cancer Center where she negotiated collaborations between hospitals, clinical trial sites, patient advocacy groups and pharmaceutical companies.

Joanna is a Senior Advisor for the NIH and TATRC Commercialization Programs assisting companies funded by those organizations with their capital raising and corporate development strategies.

Joanna is an active committee member, roundtable participant and panel speaker for BIO, BayBio, Larta & CHI.

Joanna attended graduate school at the University of California Santa Barbara and received a CIESEN/NASA grant to develop medical models and project global melanoma mortality rates based on climate change and environmental factors. Other research grants included: National Science Foundation for artificial intelligence research.

Joanna received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Wesleyan University, CT and her Master’s degree in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
